The department Group Internal Audit at our Headquarters in Heidelberg is looking for a Tax Compliance Auditor (f/m/d).

You will be located in Heidelberg, Germany and report directly to the Director Group Internal Audit.

Your next challenge

Audits are scheduled in the Annual Audit Plan, or an ad-hoc basis, which may cover all functions and locations of the Group. The mains responsibilities will consists of: 

  • Perform the complete tax audit on accounts. Conduct and planning audit whether businesses are preparing, filling and paying in due time current or deferred taxes according to the law in force in each country audited
  • Control implementation (incl. documentation) of Tax Compliance (compliance with local law as well as with group requirements) as set out in the Group Tax Policy
  • Appropriate number of legal entities in the country and appropriateness of tax function in the country
  • Collect and checking past tax fillings to be sure they were completed in a timely, appropriate manner and to detect deficient controls at local levels
  • Research process errors that caused incorrect tax filings
  • Inspect account books and accounting systems in order to have a complete overview of taxes paid in the organization
  • Examine and evaluate laws, regulations in place according to the formal taxation process in order to have a complete overview of legal process requirements of the relevant country
  • Verify annual reports, statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to access the compliance of the company audited to the taxes payments
  • Focus on internal controls and procedures and also help guard against fraud or financial mismanagement
  • Recognition of transfer pricing Guideline in different countries. Research and analyze various documentations related to local transfer pricing
  • Be in contact with Group Tax in order to get update and accurate information for tax audit
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings straight forward, tax risk assessment, controls and advise on efficiency

Your profile

  • University degree in tax studies or a comparable qualification to the German “Steuerberater”
  • At least 10 years of experience working in tax departments of large companies or tax firms, in addition a proven training in a professional accounting course could be an advantage
  • A thorough working knowledge of general accounting and audit principles and taxation auditing practices as they relate to the position
  • Ability to audit the various types of complex accounting systems and procedures employed by business concerns will be an advantage
  • A demonstrated desire for continued self-improvement in the fields of tax audit practice and business communication
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving
  • Fluent in English
  • Confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, to work with a minimum supervision and to focus on evidence is one of your strongest attributes
  • Familiarity with MS Office and SAP
  • Willingness to travel
  • Audit experience is an advantage but not mandatory
